Lincoln Home National Historic Site in Springfield, Illinois preserves the only home Abraham Lincoln ever owned, along with four blocks of his historic neighborhood. Families love stepping back in time to the 1860s, where kids can imagine life during Lincoln's era while exploring the beautifully restored Victorian-era community.

Best Season: Spring through fall offers the best weather for exploring the outdoor historic neighborhood, with special events often held during Lincoln's birthday week in February.
